Other ways to get involved
Other ways organisations can help address digital inclusion
We appreciate that not all organisations are in a position to register to become UK online centres full-time, however there are still many things that they can do to help address digital exclusion in the UK. Here are some ideas for you to try:
myguide and Online basics
myguide (www.myguide.gov.uk) offers a wide range of free courses to help beginners get to grips with computers and the internet, plus an easy to use email service and web search facility.
myguide courses start with the basics of how to use a mouse and keyboard, emailing, searching the internet and staying safe online. Learners can progress on to banking, shopping and online government services, job hunting, bargain hunting, and digital photography.

Advocate and promote the work of UK online centres to your own network
Are you a membership organisation, or can communicate to a network of other organisations about digital inclusion and the work of UK online centres? Maybe you have a newsletter or magazine that has a large readership? If so, could you encourage your network to get involved with the ideas shown here? We can provide you with copy, case studies, statistics and photography to help spread the word. Request more information.
